The food pantry is a community service project of Resurrection and several other churches serving a predominantly Hispanic community. The pantry is located in Emanuel Lutheran Church in Corona , NYC. Volunteers meet the first Saturday of every month to prepare and distribute food packages for needy families in the neighborhood. Preparation begins at 9 am followed by distribution of packages at 10 am. Prior to distribution recipients are invited to participate in a brief devotional service conducted in Spanish and English in the church. At the same time, children are invited to a Bible study in another location in the church. Approximately 70 to 80 families are served at every month.

The Food Pantry project is supported by donations of food and money from churches, organizations, and individuals. Anyone wishing to contribute food or provide financial support, or to volunteer their time to the project can contact the church office or call the following number.

About Emanuel Lutheran Church in Corona

Emanuel German Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized in 1887. The society first met on Willow Street (now 46th Avenue) until a church was built that same year on Oak Street (now 47th Avenue). In 1903, the congregation opened their present building on the corner of Sycamore Avenue and High Street (now 104th Street and 37th Drive). Originally a German-speaking church, the congregation now offers services in Spanish and Korean.
